A wig a day keeps the blues away

A wig a day keeps the blues away

I can get behind this look 🌟🌟🌟(thanks @beautycon)
Happy mid-October blog! These are not my lips…but they COULD be.

What's this? Another sinister finding at the playground?!
Gee, I thought I was all done with my Creepy Things Found at a Child’s Playground series…and then I saw this!?!

Day 6: I "acquired" this neon magenta bob from the Broad, but seem to have lost my beloved blue bob. You know what color I don't have? AQUA. I need an aqua wig.
In continuing with my post-a-wig-every-day-until-I-run-out idear, here is Corinne’s magenta wig that I “acquired” many years ago.

corinne purple
She wore it first! Here’s my Broad at Burning Man, circa 2004, wearing my corset (still have it), and skirt (nope).

πŸ’šπŸƒπŸ’™
Fall is dazzling me with all the changing colors, I love this time of year.

Halloween #fbf: Little Lizzy as a princess in a Gunne Sax dress with my two neighborhood BFFs Samantha and Alexis. Boy did I love to boss those two around! πŸ‘»
Dressed up for Halloween with my two neighborhood pals, Samantha and Alexis. Their father filled candy machines for a living so they always had candy and gum at their house, and they were younger than me so I could boss them around all the live-long day. Hooray!

Day 7: the Hayley Mills wig! It wasn't supposed to be. It was supposed to be a cool little pixie for when I felt my Edie Sedgwick coming on (which used to be a LOT)...but somehow it had more of a Hayley Mills vibe, so the nickname stuck. Oh well. "Let's g
The Hayley Mills wig. She was supposed to be an Edie Sedgwick but that just wasn’t in the cards for her.

blonde ambition
Notable for a series of self-portraits I took back when Josh and I were on a 4-day hiatus because of my drinking and I immersed myself into a bottle of whiskey and put on a lot of eyeshadow and took some of the best self-portraits of my life. The series even inspired a painting…

"Self-portrait with Grapes", 2008. My Aunt Lisa has wanted this painting for years, and I'm finally mailing it to her! #procrastination: a celebration.
…that my aunt requested, and I gave to her. Good ol’ Hayley Mills wig!

Saturday morning Daddy/baby dance party πŸ’™
One week ago today: daddy and baby dance party in the kitchen. He has the baby currently–I won the chore chart so I get my 3 hour break from the baby. I’m using it to type this blather and then I’m going to make my Halloween costume.

For me October involves watching a lot of horror films. Today's pick: "The Legend of Hell House", 1973.
It just wouldn’t be October without watching a few scary movies, eh? This one is from 1973 and it’s called “The Legend of Hell House”. It was…okay. Not scary. Almost campy.

Oooh yeahhh ✨✨✨(thanks @ashish).
This is an image from the account of a designer in the UK called Ashish who smothers all of his clothes in sparkle and I LOVE IT ALL.

Day 8: the Cleopatra wig! Worn for Halloween 2011. I was proud of the fact that I made both my Cleopatra and Josh's Marc Antony costumes.
The Cleopatra wig! Back in 2011. I worked SO HARD on our Cleopatra and Marc Antony costumes and then we both got disgusting colds just in time for the party. BOOOOO.

Marc Antony and Cleopatra
Seems to me we were on a lot of cold medicine, here. Heh.

Spotted in my neighbor's yard: zombie flamingoes! Cute! πŸ‘»
My neighbor’s zombie flamingo graveyard is too cute. Josh refuses to do the graveyard in our front yard this year, he tells me it’s “too macabre”. However, he WILL do the giant spider devouring the human skeleton. ?

Prismacolor/metallic ink. Not dated. 🌟✨✨
It’s an older Lizzy drawing, frustratingly NOT dated but it must be after 2008 because I signed it EP Holcomb, my married name. Note to self: ALWAYS DATE EVERYTHING. It will help with the dementia later on.

Day 9: the old lady wig! We dressed up as old people/our "future selves" for Halloween 2014. It was one of my favorites! πŸ‘΅πŸ‘΄
The Old Lady wig! Josh said I looked like the Starbucks logo, which was entirely unintentional.

Test run today of our Halloween costumes and make-up. We watched a bunch of YouTube tutorials on how to make your face look old...then we couldn't stop laughing! I ❀️ Halloween!
This was Halloween 2014, and it was SO much fun. I even had an awful cold which just made me look even more pathetic and elderly. I would have won the costume contest at work, but I didn’t want to stick around an extra 20 minutes because I felt so crappy…now I regret not staying.

Granted, Maggie's had to wait almost 12 years, but now food opportunities are literally falling into her dog mouth! πŸ˜‚
Maggie’s got a real good thing going on with the baby. I’ll have my back turned for a second and he’ll be feeding her his baby crackers!

It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween at Casa Holcomb. πŸ‘»
Starting to decorate the house. Party is in two weeks!

Gotta say, I like the look of the scary portraits against the aqua wall.
Really enjoying the scary portraits against the aqua wall.

'Sup, glitter skeleton. πŸ’€βœ¨βœ¨βœ¨
And of course, the glitter skeleton.

Another beautiful Fall day πŸŒ²πŸƒπŸŒΎ
Mixed in with the rain and gloom, we are still having nice days like this.

Day 10: the blonde beehive! I don't remember buying this wig and I don't remember using it for any particular costume...but there it is! Huh. My 20s were craaazy. πŸ˜…
The blonde beehive! I have no memory of buying this wig or using it for any particular costume…although all of my photos from 2005-2007 are gone so anything is possible. It’s a little sad to me how limited my memory is unless I have photo proof. What would I do without obsessive documentation of my life?

9 months of Goo! 😍
Aw, sick Goo. 9 months old! 9 months of this sweet baby boy. I love him so much it catches in my throat sometimes. I sit and look at pictures of his face before I fall asleep because it makes me happy. I slept downstairs this week to spare Josh from my coughing and nose blowing and germs and for 10 straight minutes one night, we just texted each other pictures of our son back and forth. It’s LOVE.

Out buying vitamin C at Walgreens yesterday and discovered that they have a Day of the Dead section. Cool. πŸ’€
Walgreens has a Day of the Dead section now! I resisted. It was hard.

Day 11: the Courtney Love wig! It was called the "white trash" wig on the wig website, but I used it to play Courtney with Josh's Kurt in 2009. It has not aged well. πŸ˜‚
Oh man, the Courtney Love wig did NOT want to cooperate. I did two different sessions with it, a week apart, so I can’t blame the cold…and I hated all of them! The wig kept sliding back and not even my GUM would cooperate. Heigh-ho. What am I gonna do, throw her out? We don’t throw out wigs in this family!

Day 12: the Peg Bundy wig! Worn for Halloween 2012. It's cute. πŸ’–βœ¨βœ¨βœ¨
Ah, the Peg Bundy…one of my favorites! I liked how this whole look came together. And being so sick, it even raised my spirits!

Yesterday's clouds were real plump and juicy. ☁️☁️☁️
These big ol’ cumulus clouds look like whipped cream…mmmm…whipped creeeeam. Oh yeah, speaking of food/my low-carb diet, officially this morning I am the same weight as my husband! FINALLY! I’ve lost a little over 50 pounds and only have 12 to go! YAYYYYYY I might even make it to my goal, which was back to my pre-pregnancy weight by December 3rd.

Yes! (thanks @madlymazzy) πŸ˜‚
Christopher sent this to me and I laughed and laughed.

Day 13: the pink bob! Always a good time. πŸŒΈπŸ’•βœ¨βœ¨βœ¨
Finally it’s…the pink bob! One of my favorites, and worn many times with many different outfits.

party on, garth
Here’s Joshy with it on, HA HA. Ta ta!

Baby antics, funny shows, and Grammy

Baby antics, funny shows, and Grammy

Grammy gives Mr. Baby his first bite of ice cream.
Heyyyy bloooog. I’ve had the “add new post” box up for three days, just waiting for the opportunity to write. And here it is! Here’s Mom giving Goo his very first taste of ice cream. We would have waited, but it was important to her, so we let her do it. Of course he loved it!

Catching up on a bit of luxury with Mom last night...classic episodes of Aaaaaabsolutely Faaaaabulous πŸ’–
Plenty of Ab Fabs were watched over the past week (mostly by me, but that’s okay). We also showed Mumsie “Office Space” for her first time.

"Beverly Leslie with your pants so tight, won't you be my partner tonight?"
And of course, per her request, some “Will & Grace”. I wonder how the new season is? Did Beverly Leslie come back too?

Happy Friday! Let's frolic. 🌞🌲🐢
She’s flying back to Boise this afternoon. Josh is driving her to the airport…while I go to the gym and go to the grocery store and frantically try to accomplish some cleaning tasks that are very difficult to get done with a Mr. Baby.

Beautiful sunny day today. 🌞
We went for a walk (or two) every single day that she was here. Sometimes she went for a THIRD walk by herself after dinner. This is a woman recovering from two back surgeries, mind you.

First full day away from my baby while Josh/Goo attend his father's bday bash in Spokane. Mumsie and I bought fresh books, gorged on Oreo milkshakes and watched "Will and Grace". Not a bad way to spend a day baby-free! (I MISS HIM)
On Saturday I let Josh take my baby to Spokane and back in the very same day to attend his father’s 70th birthday party. I definitely missed my baby, but it helped having Mom around to distract me. We walked, snarfed Oreo milkshakes and read books. Not a bad baby-free day!

I can tell Josh has been using my car 😝
A surefire sign that Josh borrowed my car: Paul Anka appeared in the front seat. Gross.

Beach baby β›±
Josh took the baby to the beach this week and let him stick his baby toes in the sand (and pulled him away before he could eat a mouthful of sand).

No editing needed on these stunning hibiscus flowers. 🌺🌺🌺
The hibiscus is doing great.

Somebody wants attention and her name is Maggie dog.
Maggie dog says heyyyyy pay attention to meeeeeeeeee.

Pops and Goo vs Pops and me πŸ’•πŸ’•
My father and Goo vs. my father and me.

Post-haircut: better! I only get my hair cut 2-3 times a year, always the minimum. The hairdresser suggested I cut my hair every 6 weeks...that seems high maintenance to me.
Mumsie and I both desperately needed a trim, so went and got our hair cut together. This is the “after”…I also took a “before” shot, but Flickr seems to have not uploaded it, and I am lazy.

Last shave ice of the summer! 🌺
My mother is interested in Lake Stevens, so we drove around the lake and also stopped for one last shave ice.

#fbf: my baby shower last November with Erika and @idahoagogo πŸ’•(I finally looked at the pictures this morning! πŸ˜‚)
“One last”…because as of September 1st I am officially on a low-carb diet. My weight has stalled with a whopping 20 pounds left to go for months now, and IT WILL NOT STAND. Here’s a shot of me and Erika and Christy at my baby shower last year…I finally got around to looking at the pictures Erika sent!

Nature walks with Mumsie. 🌾
Mumsie off in search of Maggie, who was deep in the forest eating something disgusting.

Bear Cub!
Bear Cub also ate something disgusting during one of our walks…she had a shit-eating grin! What gross animals!

Goo laughing at videos of himself.
This baby loves to look at pictures of himself. He sure takes after his mom!

Maggie is 11 years older than Mr. Bennett but they get along just fine. πŸ’•
Bob and Fleeta brought Mr. Bennett and the kids over yesterday. Maggie and Mr. Bennett got along famously. I miss my dogs playing together like that! It’s been years.

Family walkies! It's hoooot. 🌞
One last family walk. Luckily my mother is going to come back for another visit at the beginning of November. What will Goo be doing by then? Running, at this rate!

Mumsie is flying back home today after a lovely 2-week stay. We're going to miss her!
We’re going to miss you, Grammy!

Alright, time to get this carcass moving. Ta ta for now, bloggers.

Camping with my baby

Camping with my baby

Gym face. Since the arrival of Mr. Baby I only get to go to the gym on the weekend, but I'm glad to do it. If only Planet Fitness had child care! 😝
Hey everybody! It’s my gym face. I only go to the gym once or twice a week now, but I ENJOY it, dammit.

Tiny white flowers in the front yard.
Wonder what these tiny white flowers are in the front yard? They smell similar to lilacs, but not as sweet.

The Endless Summer hydrangea and Maggie dog. πŸ’™
For reasons having nothing to do with me, I am temporarily jobless. BOOOO. However, it’s July, my favorite summer month, I have a freezer full of Mexican popsicles, and all I gotta do is keep my baby alive every day. Life’s not too shabby.

Black currants in the front yard that we've been meaning to pick for a couple weeks now. What would we do with them?
Ah shucks this photo reminds me that we still haven’t picked those black currants in the front yard.

Poor Bear Cub is getting drugged today! She hates fireworks.
I drugged both of the dogs up for the 4th of July, and they did great. Even Mr. Baby did great. I, on the other hand, was extremely grumpy! I couldn’t believe how noisy the fireworks were this year!

Happy 4th! I've got ✨spirit✨✨✨
I glittered myself up for the occasion. I also wore a red/white/blue dress I bought from H&M last year, but I’m not going to post any photos of that because my arms are just too damn fat. I have 5 months to lose 20 pounds. Do you think I can do it???

Ronia and her baby cousin.
Awww look at Goo, secure in the arms of Ronia. She was really the only cousin who paid attention to him. Well, Elliot did come over at one point and affectionately call him, “The spawnliest spawn”, which I took as a compliment.

Aunt Brenna made M. the cutest little outfit.
Brenna made him this super-cute outfit.

Water Cub! πŸ’¦πŸ’¦πŸ’¦
Guess what we did last Thursday?

Baby's first camping trip! Not even 6 months old.
We took our special Goo camping for the first time!

πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’š
He did so good. He even slept in the tent, in his little baby cradle, from 10-6, and didn’t wake up when Bear Cub went BARK BARK BARK at something/someone in the middle of the night.

Bliss
I was so proud of him! Now I don’t have to be nervous for the next time that we go camping. I’d like to go again, ASAP.

πŸŒˆπŸ’–βœ¨
Look, there’s me.

Mr. Baby and daddy in matching flannels--how PNW is this? 😍
Fleeta found this tiny flannel for Mr. Baby, and it just happens to match Josh’s perfectly.

Bear Cub at the river's edge. πŸ’¦
We went to one of our favorite spots, and camped with the car nearby, instead of hiking…first time we’d done that since 2010.

My water dogs.
The dogs had a great time, as always. The next camp over had a crazy old skinny man named Dave who smoked weed, gave us oatmeal cookies, and played the damn recorder at 2 o’clock in the morning. Oh Dave!

This one's for you, @dubtrance 😘
I took this photo for Christopher, who has an irrational hatred of my Chacos.

πŸŒ²πŸ’•
Mr. Baby loves nature.

River Lizzy. πŸ’¦
Welp, I’m just gonna have to be fat this summer. That’s life! That’s what happens when you have a baby!

Let's go back!
Josh in his Hendrix trunks…always a good look.

River sunset.
So pretty.

We went to a matinee of "Alien: Covenant"--the scariest thing was, we were all alone in the theater!
“I wonder when the movie theater will become obsolete?” I asked Josh on the way in to see “Alien: Covenant” Saturday afternoon…and lo and behold, we were the only patrons! Until the film started, and about 3 people trickled in. It was good, but will never top the first two in the series.

Time is going by too quickly! Tonight we start FOOD. πŸ˜‹
Today my big boy is six months old! Time is going by too fast. I’m going to cook him a yam tonight for his first food…can’t wait to see his face!

Beach, babies and Broads

Beach, babies and Broads

My neighbors roses are electric πŸ”₯
Hey blog! Hard to believe it’s July already. Time is moving too quickly.

Beach baby 🌈
My fat baby is going to be 6 months old in 9 days! And it seems like only yesterday that I was pushing him out.

You betcha we went to the beach again. What else are you gonna do when it's 90 degrees?
When the weather gets hot, you go to the beach! Even if it is only for 20 minutes (before your baby starts fussing).

Your parents at the beach. πŸŒˆπŸ’¦
Look, it’s your parents at the beach. I wore my rainbow hat to the dog park yesterday, and Mr. Baby was grabbing at it, attempting to put it in his mouth.

“Careful, son,” I warned him. “You don’t know where this hat has been! And it’s never been washed.”

“He might get a contact high from it,” snorted the Broad.

Crab, anyone?
Lots of dead crabs washed up on the shore that day. Mmmmm, craaaaaab.

Beach Bear πŸ’¦
Bear Cub loves the beach.

My mom bought me a furry present
Lookie lookie what my mom bought me! I love furry presents. Too bad the foot doctor I recently visited told me that I have to wear hard, enclosed shoes ALL DAY LONG NOW. Ugghhhhh.

Butterfly in action!
I just want my tootsies to be free! Like this butterfly.

Our daisies are really blossoming this year!
The daisies in our front yard are really blossoming this year!

Little Lizzy. ✨✨✨
Here for no particular reason is little Lizzy as Tinker Bell. OMG I can’t wait to play dress-up with my son! I will be so proud when he dons a wig for the first time. It will be like playing dress-up with my little brother all over again, only BETTER.

Tbt: color-coordinating with @dubtrance, October 2015. πŸ’šπŸŒˆβœ¨
Another flashback, to October 2015. Christopher re-posted this picture to his IG account and then told me over the phone that he’d had to erase some comments about how “anorexic” I looked.

“Tell me more,” I said, eagerly.

“Oh, like ‘eat a sandwich’…” he offered.

“Are you kidding?” I squawked. “I’ve been dieting half my life…that’s a COMPLIMENT.”

Summer splendor!
Heigh ho. Look at how pretty pretty the flowers in my neighbor’s yard are!

Lunch
The weight is slowwwwwly coming off, thanks to eating lunches like this one: a humble salad.

Nice day for it 😎
And of course, walking Mr. Baby and the rogs every day. But I’ve done that all along.

We love being outside! πŸŒΏπŸŒžπŸ’•
We love to be outside! Especially when the weather is in the 70’s. Perfect.

πŸ’•
He was so good at the dog park yesterday. Smiling and cooing and charming everyone. Especially several wet dogs, who just wanted to kiss him.

My broad showing off her stunningly white legs at Magnuson Park today.
Look, it’s my Broad! With her glowing white legs. I tried to “saturate” some color into them, but it just made them blue.

“Hey look, I got a little color,” she said as we were leaving the park yesterday, showing me her arm.

“If by ‘color’, you mean pinker and with more freckles, then yes, you got some color,” I told her.

Maggie and Bear Cub swam it up today. πŸ’¦
Josh was off work early yesterday so we picked up the Broad and went to Magnuson Park, near her house. It was H-O-T!

My Father's Day gift to Joshy. For camping!
Here’s the camping Dad mug I bought Joshy for Father’s Day. We may just go camping this week…wish us luck!

Summertime, when the living is sleazy

Summertime, when the living is sleazy

Fun with cloud shapes: what do you see? I see the Flavor Burst I'm gonna snarf in Portland tomorrow! 🍦
Hey blog! Mr. Baby is in his baby bouncer next to me on the floor while I type this. We’ll see how long it lasts…(do I say that every time? I think so).

#throwback: a street performer in Times Square, 2015.
For no particular reason at all, here is a street performer from our trip to NYC back in October 2015.

The graduate! 🌺
On Saturday after I got off work, we drove to Portland to celebrate my beautiful cousin Erika’s graduation from nursing school. She is 25 weeks pregnant, and looks radiant.

With my beautiful cousin Erika, who just graduated from nursing school.
She had a luau in her front yard. It was mostly family–her mother and one of her brothers, her mom’s boyfriend and his sons, her husband’s mother and sister.

Mr. Baby cuddles with Aunt Kissy @dubtrance πŸ’•βœ¨βœ¨
But of course we couldn’t make a trip to Portland without picking up Christopher!

No trip to Portland would be complete without a stop at Voodoo Donuts! 🍩
We spent the night at a Red Lion, and on the way out of town we HAD to stop at “Voodoo Doughnuts”, of course. Mmmm.

Inside Voodoo Doughnuts yesterday. I got "gay bar" and "triple chocolate penetration" (who only gets one donut?).
I got a “Gay Bar”–a bar doughnut filled with cream with vanilla frosting and a line of Froot Loops on top, and a “Triple Chocolate Penetration”–chocolate cake donut with chocolate frosting and chocolate cereal on top. YUM.

Love these shiny neon flowers in my neighbor's yard. πŸ’–
The dogs stayed with our favorite boarder, who we just learned is moving houses and won’t be able to board them anymore. Dammit.

The "Endless Summer" hydrangea is beginning to bloom.
In the meantime suddenly it’s HOT here. It’s supposed to get up to nearly 90 today…gross. I have the baby dressed in a sleeveless onesie with crabs on it and after this typing, I’m going to take him for a nice cool air-conditioned drive to get him to nap.

πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
And even though it’s 10 in the morning, I may just have a popsicle.

Maggie dog says, "Happy frickin' summer solstice." β˜”οΈπŸ’¦πŸ’¦πŸ’¦
Of course on the day of the summer solstice, it still looked like this! Look at poor old Maggie dog.

πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸŒΏ
I pulled up a ton of these big funky green plants earlier this year and the ones I missed blossomed…foxglove! Whoops! Maybe I’ll remember next year.

Floral present from Joshy 🌻🌻🌻
Joshy bought me flowers. Just cause.

At the beach with my mens yesterday. 🐳
Baby’s second trip to the beach…no falling in quicksand this time! Score!

My water dogs. πŸ’¦
We may go again today. What else do you do when it’s grossly hot? Get wet!

Seaside flowers.
We live so close to the water. It’s nice.

Bear Cub's favorite activity is standing on the shore and attacking Maggie when she comes out of the water.
Happy Cub!

Summer weather finally here! 🌈🌞🌿
I even broke out Ye Olde Rainbow Hat. I’ve had that damn thing since I was about 21.

This is my kind of weather. 🌞🌞🌞
Too hot for black dogs to walk in the afternoon–Josh took them for a 9 am walk today.

Friday night with these fellers. Crab cakes, fresh corn, and "Scratch". 🎧
Friday night fun with baby. Yesterday an ice cube in a snack bag kept him entertained for at least 30 minutes.

Happy Pride weekend, Seattle! πŸŒˆπŸ’–βœ¨βœ¨
It’s Pride Weekend! I’m always a little nostalgic for the parade. Maybe next year.

Kind of obsessed with these strawberry Mexican Popsicles πŸ“πŸ“πŸ“
Current obsession: strawberry Mexican popsicles. SO GOOD.

The thigh's the limit πŸ’₯
This is my thigh. I don’t know why. My oh my?

This morning at 4 am while I lay awake, sweating, I thought a psychedelic alphabet adult coloring book was a great idea. What do you think?

Well there ain’t nothin’ wrong with the way she moves

Well there ain’t nothin’ wrong with the way she moves

Mood for today 🌟✨✨✨
Halloo bloog! Are you feeling BOLD today?

New addition to the backyard number one...Josh added the glitter.
Check out one of the latest additions to our backyard. Josh added all of the different glitters. Oooooh.

New addition to the backyard number 2.
Here’s the second addition to the backyard…zombie gnome!

Good morning. 🌞
Unfortunately, Mr. Baby and I finally caught the nasty cold Josh had last week. He has a wet cough and a crusty nose, and I have a fiery sore throat and constantly dripping nose. Boooo. RIP longest stretch of non-illness: October 2015-June 2017.

Bear Cub is catching some rays.
Sun Cub!

The lookout.
I felt so lousy this morning I texted my boss to see if I could trim down my patient minutes, and she offered to give me the entire day off. YES PLEASE.

Giant poppies!
I’m also skipping out on the party at Grandma’s house later this afternoon for Josh’s cousin, who is graduating from undergrad school. Double boooooo.

What is with all the ads on IG all of a sudden? Is it just me? I keep marking them as inappropriate but they just keep coming, every three pictures or so. It's relentless. Help.
Josh is bringing Mr. Baby to the party, though, so maybe I’ll get in a “nap”. Remember naps? Oh boy, I had some excellent pregnancy naps.

Bought some scarlet begonias today.
The lipstick salvia in the backyard planter wasn’t going to come back, so I went out and purchased this scarlet begonia using the 10$ gift card I won at work for correctly guessing the amount of jelly beans in a jar.

Yesterday he did some "earthing". πŸ˜‚
Ohhhhh the chub, I’m crazy about the chub. Mr. Baby is 5 months old today! Hard to believe.

M. and I visited @idahoagogo and her sweet little baby today.
We went and visited Christy and her cute little baby this week.

We scored this sexy china cabinet and matching dining room set from our wedding photographer. They really class up the joint!
We scored this beautiful china cabinet, as well as matching dining room set, from our wedding photographer and his wife. They class up our place nicely.

One single rose in the front yard.
So far, just a single rose in the front yard. The backyard trellis is getting flush with roses.

Ugh, bleck, I feel gross. Here’s hoping Mr. Baby and I feel better REAL soon, summer colds suck.

Don’t dream it, be it

Don’t dream it, be it

Mini Geisha painting in progress.
Hola blog! This is the little geisha painting I have been working on for aaaaages, because…I’m not really into it. I should start another little painting, maybe? Or just force myself to finish this one.

The lone tulip that bloomed this year--dark purple!
Hey look it’s the ONE tulip that bloomed this year in the front yard, out of the entire row that Joshy planted. Heigh ho. At least it’s pretty!

Josh brought me home a Seattle Pop. The baby and Maggie were verrry interested.
Josh brought home some “Seattle Pops”–gourmet Popsicles–for me to sample. Mexican Chocolate–gross, coffee–meh, but this strawberry one was okay. No match for the generic Big Sticks though.

Orange lilies in the backyard.
These beautiful orange lilies appeared in the backyard recently.

Forget-me-nots galore in the backyard.
As well as lots of forget-me-nots. They are a much brighter blue in real life.

When G. met M.. πŸ’•
Mr. Baby, meeting another baby 12 days older than him. Mr. Baby slept in his OWN ROOM for the first time last night! He’s still in the rock and play…I don’t plan on moving him out of that until he outgrows it.

Back at our old stomping grounds, the big dog park. I used to walk here every day while pregnant, now I bring my son! 🌲
Last week I took the dogs and baby to our old stomping grounds, the big dog park, where I walked a mile nearly every day when I was pregnant (except towards the GIANT end).

Can you spot the dog butts?
Lots of tree roots made for a bumpy ride, but Mr. Baby slept through it all just fine.

Hearts in nature. πŸ’š
Always finding hearts in nature.

Maggie trampled down this fern in the backyard 2 years ago...I'm always pleased when it grows back.
Here’s the beautiful fern in our backyard. Maggie trampled it down the first year we lived here, but it grows back each spring.

Gorgeous giant poppy in my neighbor's yard.
My neighbor’s gorgeous giant red poppies. I wonder if my pink ones will grow this year?

Gorgeous day out there!
The weather has finally been warm Β lately. We just went for a family walk, mostly to get the baby to fall asleep.

Tank top weather today.
Hooray for sunshine! It’s been in the upper 70’s the last couple of days, perrrrfect.

Re-posted from my other account--me at 4 months vs M. at 4 months. πŸ˜‚
Me at 4 months vs. Mr. Baby at 4 months. He’s such a little chunk!

Working on my fitness. πŸ’ͺ
I’m doing this stuff, but the flab hasn’t budged. I know what I have to do…give up all carbs and sugars. DAMMIT.

Sexy Josh.
My stinkin’ husband left me and the baby alone for 14 BLOODY HOURS to go skiing last weekend…but at least he took a sexy selfie.

Into it (thanks @marthamakeupartist) πŸ’šβœ¨βœ¨
IG has no shortage of inspiring eyeshadow looks.

My baby meets my baby brother. πŸ’™
Look who came for a visit on Wednesday! My brother and his wife.

Marymoor Park! πŸ’šπŸ’™
Thursday we went to Marymoor Park. Friday Stew woke up with a brutal migraine and had to lay in bed for several hours…he didn’t feel well until late afternoon. Poor little guy.

Primroses 🌸🌸🌸
Primroses galore at Marymoor Park.

Friday afternoon after my brother was feeling better we drove to the Mukilteo lighthouse. We strolled around, gawked at a massive man sunbathing (and burning), and munched on ice cream cones.

My brother's wife is a great houseguest: πŸͺπŸͺπŸͺπŸͺπŸͺ.
Stephanie made dinner for us Friday night and topped it off with homemade chocolate chip cookies. I forced them to take the rest of the cookies with them when they left Saturday morning…I cannot be trusted with so many cookies. I ate 5 on Friday night alone. Total weight gain for my brother’s visit: 2 pounds. πŸ™

Beautiful. (thanks @richardquartley)
Beautiful Impressionistic painting spotted on IG.
