Hey blerg, are you ready for 2432943294 pictures of my baby? Of course you are. We all knew that Glitter for All would become Babies for Some once I squeezed him out of my body.
My sister-in-law has been over for two visits now to hang out with Baby M. Look at how cute Ronia and the baby are! Mawwwww.
Everyone loves a new baby.
She even brought him a cool shirt to grow into.
We’re already on Josh’s third, and final, week of paternity leave. Boooooo!
While awaiting the Painting Muse, I have been spending my time in between breastfeeding sessions doing puzzles.
This dude likes to breastfeed. I’ve been using an app to keep track of feedings…I think we did about 14 yesterday.
You gotta throw a little glamour into the baby pic mix from time to time.
He’s sleeping pretty well most nights. Last night he had two three-hour chunks of sleep…that was nice.
Espe, at about 39 weeks pregnant, came over for a visit and brought me these beautiful flowers.
There’s an obnoxious Japanese app called “Meitu” that gives your selfies this fun effect. I texted it to my mother, who texted it to my father, who wrote to tell me that motherhood had given me a “beautiful glow”. “That’s not motherhood, that’s Japanese photoshop,” I replied. Still sweet of him to say.
We try to do Tummy Time every day. Mornings are generally best for that–he’s alert without being fussy.
You have to cherish these days, even the tough ones.
Of course I did the Meitu app on him, too. Look at the little eyebrows!
This puzzle was a colossal pain in the ass and when I finished, there were two pieces missing! Nooooo.
We often do Tummy Time to the Biz Markie station on Pandora, and sometimes the Tribe Called Quest station.
I was very proud of my sister-in-law and my Broad for joining the women’s march last Saturday. 50,000 people were expected to march in Seattle, and 175,000 did! Amazing!
I marched in spirit. I’m just now, the last couple of days, starting to go for short walks outside again. Recovering from delivering an 8 pound baby (with a second degree tear) ain’t no fun.
Bear Cub keeping an eye on things.
This was our first walk. He screamed and cried so hard on the way to the park I had to give him a breastfeeding session before we started the walk. Heigh ho!
Seriously though, I need a painting project.
Meitu again! Addictive!
Brenna and the kids during visit number two, this time with Jerry.
I had been tossing around the idea of painting Gloria Swanson (we’re distantly related, after all), but I can’t find just the right picture.
Trying out the Ergo, this time with actual baby inside.
We’ve been taking the Bob stroller on walkies.
The sunshine feels great.
What do babies think about?
I’d say we’re holding up pretty darn well for the new parents of a two-week-old.
We’re enjoying two new (for us) shows: “Orphan Black” and “Schitt’s Creek”, which is truly funny. You should check it out!
