Hey blog! Currently I am sleep deprived, but what better time to blog 2392014329 pictures of my newborn baby? Here is the Broad. She came over for a visit and snuggled with my boy.
Bright-eyed in this one, a state that he is not often in these days. Newborns sleep a lot! Which gives me little chunks of time throughout the day to accomplish tasks.
This must have been for Throwback Thursday last week–Kauai, 2014. Look at that water, droooool…
Christy also came for a visit. She is due any day now. In the past week, two out of the four pregnant ladies I know have had their baby boys. Christy is next!
He is sooooo sweeeeeet. I want to make my Flickr private for his sake, but then this blog would have to be private too, and then I really would just be blogging for myself. Hmmmm. Well…not ready to make that leap yet. Making my Instagram private was a big step for me.
Delicious baby thighs. He weighed in at the hospital this morning at 9 pounds, 11 ounces! What a little chunkeroo! MY FAVORITE.
I really miss this aspect of paternity leave. It’s so much easier handling stroller + two dogs with two people. Yesterday I tried doing a walk with the stroller by myself, but Baby M. is currently in a carseat hating phase and screamed so hard after I loaded the dogs in the car that I ended up unloading them, going back into the house and popping him on the boob instead.
Later on after Josh came home from work, I took the dogs for a quick walk, sans baby. I need the daily dog walk, especially when it’s sunny outside. It’s really important for my mental health. I thought I could take the baby in the Moby wrap (see above photo), but I must have tied it too loosely because his head wasn’t supported at all. Curses!
Today, however, I tied the Moby REAL tight, got the little squirt in there and then, taking one dog at a time, took a slooooow walk around the block. Today is the last day of sunshine for a while and I was determined to get my 15 minutes, dammit! Plus the dogs had been staring at me expectantly all day. There’s that dog guilt.
My mother tells me about her day at work over the phone and I realize breastfeeding this sweet baby every hour or two hours all day long ain’t so shabby.
I still have a lot of red candy leftover from my birthday present.
Cute factor aside, yuck, I think you have to be under the age of 10 to enjoy these things. Or under the influence of…something.
Oh little man. Love him in this long-sleeved wrap shirt.
The orange leggings are from my mother, they match the Boppy cover, and of course I notice things like that!
This is a good look.
I’ll admit, I haven’t been reading much to him yet. I’ve read two books in three weeks! And we are readers in this family! I gotta step up my game.
Ka-POW! We haven’t yet had Tummy Time today. We’ve just had Booby Time and Fussy Time (ugh I’m so sorry I talk like this now, it really can’t be helped).
One of my birthday gifts from Josh that I hung in his nursery window.
Apparently there will be 6 more weeks of winter? Hey, at least it isn’t snowing.
Christopher inspired me to paint Joan Crawford in this grapes costume, and I started the painting yesterday. It’s going to be on a little tiny 5 x 7 inch canvas, because that’s what I have on hand, but it will be a nice transitional painting for me. Transitioning back into portraits!
Supposedly babies don’t really focus on objects at only 3 weeks, but I swear he was checking out this mobile yesterday.
During one of my breastfeeding breaks I managed to bake a bunch of lactation cookies again, this time with dark chocolate AND butterscotch chips. Mmmmmm.
Finally able to explore hills (because I’m not waddling around with a pregnant body any more), we discovered three tennis balls at the park yesterday we thought we had “lost”! Woo hoo!
I was so tired last night, laying on the couch after a loooong breastfeeding session, waiting for Josh to come home so we could eat dinner. I had the little dude laying on me, and I used the reverse camera to look at his face and surprise! A smile! This was the first time I managed to capture one of those fleeting smiles on camera. It makes me really happy.
And finally today, after (what else?) a breastfeeding session. He is so content when he’s milk drunk. Siiiiiigh. Oh man. Mommy needs a nap. See ya, blog.
* I’m working my way through “30 Rock”, a cute little show that requires no thought process from yours truly, which, these days, is niiiiice.
