Grunge, art and cuteness

Dressed up in our 90s gear for Brenna's "Come As You Are" 40th b-day party.
How’s it going, blog? Here’s the grunge family dressed up for Brenna’s 40th birthday/”Come As You Are” celebration last Saturday.

Doc Martens? Check. Ripped jeans? Of course. I also wore a hemp choker, Bindi, lots of frosty eyeshadow and mushroom earrings. Lord, the 90s doesn't seem THAT long ago! 😭
Luckily back in the actual 90’s everything was baggy, not like today’s skintight everything, so I was able to wear my little polyester shift dress that I bought in that little indie store in Boise that used to be next to the Record Exchange. Plus my new Docs, black leggings…

Grunge family.
…a hemp necklace (made by Lisa), Bindi, mushroom earrings and lots of silver glitter and MAC shimmer! Josh wore my old Kurt jeans from high school (it was gratifying to see that they were also too small for him), a flannel, Bob Marley shirt and Docs. Baby M. wore his adorable star jammies, because his black Converse are too big for him.

One last shot with yesterday's party outfit.
We couldn’t stay long at the party because we had to drive Mumsie to the airport that same evening, but it was fun while we were there. M. started fussing during the car ride home and I gave him an “emergency” bottle of formula…he sucked the entire thing down! This kid is insatiable!

Who's a happy outdoors Cub?
He’s down for a nap currently while I type this out. I managed to get in a phone call with Mumsie AND eat a grilled cheese sandwich during his nap…I wonder how far into this blog entry I’ll get?

Another drawing from 2011. I stumbled upon this series while searching for “Neon Amish” to send to blogfriend Liz and have enjoyed posting them on Instagram.

Fleeta and Shirley enjoy some baby faces.
After my mother left us Saturday evening, Fleeta and Bob stayed over Sunday and Monday night. Great-grandparents Lew and Shirley came over for a visit on Sunday afternoon, which was nice.

Baby M.'s doggy quilt by Grandma Fleeta is complete! So sweet.
Fleeta finished his doggy quilt! I LOVE IT.

Hey there smiley guy! 💙
A lot more smiles and coos lately. Such a sweet boy…when he doesn’t have gas.

Bob took a turn babysitting while Fleeta and I went out to look at sewing machines...we were able to leave the house for about 30 minutes before we got the SOS text. 😂
Fleeta and I left to go to a nearby sewing shop to check out sewing machines on Monday…we were gone less than 30 minutes when Bob frantically texted us to come back. He had even given M. an “emergency” bottle of formula! Oh well. We tried. In the meantime, my Singer is still working thanks to electrical tape and a rubber band.

Hey snow, maybe you were "cute" back in December but it's almost March so ENOUGH ALREADY.
The weather flirted with snow during their stay, but luckily (for now) washed away with the rain.

Brrrrrr.
I would prefer to not see any more snow, please, and thank you, until…December.

Currently watching: "Abstract: The Art of Design" on Netflix. It's really good.
Fleeta recommended “Abstract: The Art of Design” on Netflix to us, and we watched the first two episodes with them. It’s really good!

Let's go frolic in a forest! 🌲
The dogs are currently snoozing at my feet as I type this.

FINALLY: at 7 weeks old, I managed to get him in the car seat with a minimum of fussing, put the car seat in the Bob and walk the dogs by myself! Seems so simple but has been so hard. 😅
Very proud of myself this week for being able to get the kid into the carseat, put the carseat into the BOB stroller and get us all out the door for a walk not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES! HA!

Happy Mardi Gras! I think my son owes me some beads, after all I do flash him all day long! 😂
I told my son he owed me Mardi Gras beads for flashing him all day long.

My neighbor/occasional babysitter has commissioned a teeny tiny painting from me for the dollhouse she's building. It's going to go in the teenage girls' room. I'm having fun with it! 🌈
My neighbor/occasional babysitter commissioned from me a teeny-tiny painting to go in the teenage girl’s bedroom of the dollhouse she’s building. She gave me complete creative reign, which I love, and this is where my brain took me.

Cookie Still Life: with Pacifier.
Trying to cut out the constant stream of cookies and ice cream in our diets and it’s haaaaaard. One day at a time!

Seven weeks old as of last night, and I think he just keeps getting cuter. 💕
Is he the cutest or what? I might be biased, but I still think he’s the cutest.

Loving these smiles.
I mean COME ON.

Anna May Wong, mixed media (including glitter that isn't showing up here ✨), 2011. Props to @dubtrance for introducing her to me.
Another drawing from 2011 of Anna May Wong. I like this one.

#tbt self-portrait with grapes, 2009. I painted this photo and then sold the painting! 🍇
‘member this? I painted this self-portrait and then sold the painting! That was a good year.

This would be a fun painting project. Turn those earth tones into cuh-luh! 🎨🌈
This Day of the Dead yard art needs some CUH-LUH…I think every time I see it.

What? I wrote an entire blog entry without a baby crying??? Amazing. Ta ta for now.
