A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Josh shows off new exciting uses for chip clips.
Hellerrr, blerrrrg. The baby is down for a nap, Josh is doing yardwork and I just remembered during my pumping session that I didn’t blog this week. Roops! Here’s Josh showing off exciting new hairstyles using chip clips.

Back at the gym this morning for the 1st time since baby arrived. You gotta start somewhere! πŸ’ͺ
Look it’s me! Back at the gym for the first time last weekend, and it felt so gooood. I also went yesterday after breakfast. I’m still on the bicycle for cardio and haven’t graduated back to the treadmill or elliptical (stupid plantar fasciitis), but at least I’m on Level 6 instead of my pregnancy Level 2. Progress!

Here come the crocuses in the front yard. πŸ’œπŸ’›
Tomorrow is the first day of spring hooray! My favorite season. Today is the only sunny day forecasted this week so the whole fam is going out for a sunny park trip sometime this afternoon.

Crocuses in the backyard. πŸ’œ
I love these purple and white crocuses in the backyard.

Father and son. πŸ’™
Ohhh these cuties. Baby M. will finish his 9th week of life and start his 10th on Tuesday. He smiles and coos and says “Ah-Goo” and I love him so much, it’s ridiculous.

Soggy Sunday! πŸ’¦
Lots of wet, muddy walks this week. One day I made the mistake of wearing the barefoot Brooks that are partly mesh and they got SOAKED, all through my socks. Made for a squishy walk but I still did a mile.

Had a Broad date today--we painted our nails, pet kitties, and then I watched her hoop in her underwear. Score!
Last Sunday I pumped an extra bottle so that I could go see my Broad for a Broad Date. We painted our nails with her expensive Jamberry polish, pet kitties, and then she stripped down to her underwear and showed off her hooping skills. She hoops every day now for at least an hour! I’m so proud of her. Made me want to dust off my own hoop…sometime.

Enjoying a little silver glitter on my nails before they start to chip in 3...2...
I hadn’t painted my nails in months. I like glitter polish because it camouflages chips the best. Also: because glitter.

The subject of my first mini painting is Louise Brooks, of course! I've painted her 4 times and I'm not bored yet. (top left is still for sale, btw)
For my first mini painting I went with an old favorite, Louise Brooks!

Starting the Lulu mini painting.
Initial stages of the Lulu painting. I’m at the glitter stage, presently.

Babies make you better multitaskers--here's Josh drawing and holding his son at the same time. πŸ’•
I’m not the only one creating art around here. Here’s Joshy multitasking–drawing and holding his son at the same time. Talent!

πŸ’•
I hope Baby M. is an artist too.

Bear Cub is relaxed.
Bear Cub, relaxed. She’s currently snoring at my feet as I type this.

Josh's snowflake/disco ball decoration in the kitchen. "Do we get to take the snowflakes down in five days when winter is over?" I asked him yesterday. (Side note: YAY SPRING)
Josh’s disco ball and snowflake decorations in the kitchen, which I’m planning on taking down tomorrow. Down with the snow! Up with the flowers!

Finally--a rain break!
I’m currently attempting to read a biography of Marilyn (and failing). We’ve been re-watching “Deadwood” at night…it’s even better the second time around. It’s a shame it only lasted three seasons. Seems like all the shows we like best don’t last.

Hey! "Aqua Floral Mandala" is still for sale. 🌸🌼🌸
I was downstairs painting and my pink turban caught my eye, all neglected on a wig head, so I thought I had better take care of it! It still had the price tag on it from our trip to NYC, how sad! After I posted this picture on IG, my old old old olllld blogfriend Laila offered to buy the Mandala! Woo hoo!

Today was nice. 🌞
Not right away, but sometime this year. Which is fine by me…it’s not like my paintings are going anywhere, any time soon. This past week would have been the RAW show that I was asked to join, and I wanted to, I really did…but maybe when Baby M. is a little older. I am still breastfeeding a LOT at this point.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! πŸ’šπŸ€πŸ’š
Friday was St. Patrick’s Day, and it was Josh’s idea to dress M. up in this swaddle blanket wrapped as a tiny kilt! I DIE! I had dressed up as well to get in the picture, but we were lucky to get one photo where he was not crying/screaming.

Maggie dog says "Rappy Raint Ratrick's Ray!" Turns out elder dogs are easier to pose than babies. πŸ€πŸ€
Maggie on the other hand, was comparatively easy to pose. My elder dog!

First baby date! All boys, all adorable.
Friday afternoon Baby M. and I had our very first solo outing in the car together…all the way to Bellevue! It took us only 36 minutes to drive there but a whopping hour and ten minutes to drive home, thanks to rain (groan) (there’s always rain, come on people) and gross Friday afternoon traffic. I met up with two ladies I had met through my fertility clinic and their beautiful baby boys.

“Our son looks like a tank,” remarked Josh when he saw the photos.

@espedp laid out a beautiful spread for our baby date yesterday--croissants, cream cheese and fresh fruit. Too bad we had to eat in shifts! πŸ˜‚
A lovely lunch was laid out–but we spent most of the time walking/burping/feeding/changing our babies. I did manage to shove a couple of cream cheese slathered mini croissants and fresh fruit into my maw in between caring for my son. Who sits down and eats at a normal pace with a newborn?! It’s not possible.

Swamp Cub! πŸ’¦
The drive gave me a lot more confidence about traveling with my son in the future. It can be done! He gets a little fussy at stoplights, but not a peep while we’re on the freeway. Phewwwwww.

Today's dogwalk required Wellies. β˜”οΈ
Yesterday’s dogwalk was REALLY rainy. I’m looking forward to getting out in the sun today! Let’s go!
