we run in this family

BBR1
Sunday morning we loaded the rogs into the car and drove to Marymoor Park to participate in “The Big Backyard Run”.

BBR2
And yes, dahling yeeees, I was fake-tanned for the occasion. I think I just paid the salon 49.95 for unlimited fake tanning. I HOPE SO. You know, they dazzle you with their push-up bras and white teeth and somehow trick you into giving them all your money, but we’ll see. As soon as this tan flakes off I’ll be BACK. ORANGE ALL SUMMER! LET’S DO THIS THING!

BBR7
Only about 2000 participants, as opposed to the 7000 for the Color Run. Lots of dogs and kids and jog strollers.

BBR6
Also neon seemed to be trendy. Who knew? Well, no one has a “I don’t do earth tones” neon tee-shirt except me. So there, Pierre!

BBR8
Let’s just say I was extremely reluctant to get up at 7 in the morning to do this race. But in the end I’m glad I did it. Two 5Ks down! And I got to slam fruit-smothered waffles into my maw afterwards!

BBR4
I received one compliment on my shirt and one compliment on my leggings, which I said were from “We Love Colors” even though they aren’t, that’s how much I love you, “We Love Colors”!

BBR5
The runners weren’t as cute as the ones at the Color Run, but that’s okay.

BBR3
Arf!

BBR10
We didn’t run as much as the Boy would have liked but I’m not up to his level! And that’s okay.

As soon as I saw the finish line though, I booked it! Damn skippy! There was a nice spread of bagels and donuts and juices and dog treats at the end. It was worth it!

Unless I spy something sooner, our next 5K will be “The Great Kilted Run”, which I keep telling everyone about, although nobody seems as excited as me. Probably because they won’t be wearing a faaaaaabulous glitter kilt (which I still need to construct). Glitter pleather? Omgfgdfhfgssss. The mind reels.
