Party time, excellent (part 1)

blue dress with glitter shoes
Dressed up to go out Saturday night in my old standby blue dress and extremely comfortable silver glitter mary janes (not as flattering as a heel, perhaps, but I was in no mood to totter around all night).

looking spiffy
The Boy and I coordinated. Originally he wanted me to wear this dress, but I vetoed the decision (that dress is more spring/summer) and went with blue. That raincoat used to belong to his father–I think it’s hideous (not to mention the sleeves are too short!) but it goes along with this whole “Mad Men” look he’s been obsessed with lately.

dressed up in blue
I spent most of Saturday afternoon catching up on “RuPaul’s Drag Race AllStars” and leisurely painting my fingernails with four coats of metallic nailpolish and multi-colored glitter. I love having all the time in the world to get ready to go out. Back in the pre-party days I’d always give myself 3 or 4 hours.

Joshy dressed up
He’s rocking the Brylcreem every day, and I just bought him the clove aftershave (?!) he requested for Christmas this morning. He wanted to participate in Movember, but I told him he could have the Mormon haircut or a mustache but not both–ugh!

“I was a Metrosexual before I met you,” he bragged to me in the bathroom one morning while painstakingly combing his hair.

couple in blue
I think this low-carb diet looks good on us. Also, blue may be our Power Color.

Chihuly glass
The party was to celebrate a friend of ours who recently got married in Michigan. It took place in a ritzy apartment building in downtown Bellevue. Nice Chihuly glass!

blue against green
We arrived early and wandered around for a bit, snapping pictures.

silver and blue outfit
That dress wrinkles like a mofo. I found the silver cardigan Saturday only hours before the party–I wasn’t sure how cold the party would be.

stark art
Some “art”, darling.

I’ll have to save the rest of this entry for later–the computer’s been informing me all morning that there is “critically low disk space” yet the more I free up, the LESS THERE IS. Explain that to me, please? No really, please. Today’s goal: figuring out what computer I want for Christmas, STAT.
