Biking, the best costume for today, and the current drawing

20 mile bike ride
The nice thing about having an iphone is being able to take pretty good photos while mobile, without having to lug my giant camera around. Here’s Josh on the Burke-Gilman trail, during our 20 mile bicycle ride last Sunday. I made fun of his outfit–he was wearing all brown (“They were on clearance!” he said defensively), and I was wearing my neon tee-shirt that says “I don’t do earth tones”. What a pair!

my DIY bicycle seat cover
Fleeta gave us her old mountain bike, and I’m using it right now for our rides. I have yet to Liz it up with hoop tape/glitter/stickers, but in the meantime I DID dress it up with my DIY neon faux fur bicycle seat cover! Hawt.

climbing man
We did a little biking tour at the halfway point, Marymoor Park. I take the dogs there all the time to the dog park but I’ve never spent any time checking out the other parts of the park–like the climbing wall. Of course, I have zero interest in the climbing wall, but Josh can’t help himself. He’s so full of stromph.

dog nature therapy
Walking the dogs this week. It’s my daily outdoor dog nature therapy. Nothing beats it!

happy skirt
In the immortal words of Little Edie, “I’m losing quite a bit of weight but I feel perfectly terrible.” I’ve lost a little weight and I can wear this fabulous skirt again. The colors make me happy, not to mention my brain has always loved swirly psychedelic art.

coneflowers
Beautiful coneflowers at the park.

current drawing in progress
Current art project: Prismacolor drawing from a still of the movie “Daisies”. I’m going to mount the drawing on wood and paint over the top, and it will be fantastic once I’m through, I just know it. After that, I plan on a painting of my rainbow platform shoes. It’s nice to have creative projects going!

My “shark week” started with a BANG this morning and Josh offered to pick up dinner tonight, hallelujah! I requested Mongolian Grill–I’m in the mood for a big pile of beef and vegetables, smothered in mushroom garlic sauce with a splash of plum sauce and some brown rice. Mmmmmm. Unghf, I just made myself really hungry.
