Sun + dogs + art

first hammock thrill of the year
HAPPY JUNE, BLOG. Hard to believe. We’ll still have another month of shite weather with a few sunny breaks ’round here. Here’s me enjoying my first hammock sloth + iced coffee moment last week. Maybe it was because it was the day before my period, but I actually heavily debated whether or not to post this on IG.

Is this lewd?” I asked my followers.

Not lewd, lush!” replied the fabulous Desiree.

Lewd? Oh come on” replied Derek, one of my IG buddies (and fellow dog lover). THANKS IG FRIENDS for supporting my er, non-lewdness.

dog walking
When I’m not working and researching buying a house (squeal! squeak!), I’m walking my dogs in the sunshine. I love this time of year (high pollen count aside, of course).

Liz and pets
Saturday the weather was absolutely gorgeous–not a cloud in the sky, so I took Christy to Magnuson Park, about 10 minutes away from her house. Turns out Christy lives a mile down the same street as Corinne! How convenient.

Liz and kitten
Speaking of Corinne-y-winny, I stopped by her house before meeting up with Christy on Saturday to ask if she wanted to accompany us to Magnuson. She didn’t (of course), but at least I tried! I attempted to get Maggie and Bear Cub interested in this little white kitten, but they didn’t care a bit. Maybe when the kittens are older. Corinne is keeping 3 out of the 4 kittens she’s been sitting for the past couple of weeks. She ended up getting rid of her extremely dysfunctional cat Matilda on Craigslist–Matilda is much happier now, and so is Corinne. She gave Matilda a good shot, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Christy and pets
Christy’s first time at Magnuson. Guys were checking us out left and right–must be the power of the blonde hair times 2, who can say. I’m generally pretty oblivious to male attention and even I noticed it. Christy briefly stopped to chat with a tall good-looking swarthy dude but deemed him “too young” later on. She’s over her cougar stage.

Lake Washington
Gorgeous! Days like this can’t be beat.

Narboo art
After Magnuson, Christy and I picked up Josh, dropped off the rogs, and the three of us drove to Populuxe to take in some art and Peruvian brisket sandwiches. Mmmmm.

Narboo shark painting
This is local artist Narboo. I’m in love with this shark painting with “Baby Got Back” lyrics!

two blondes in the sun
Poor Christy. Apparently the seatbelt in the back was still coated with blue powdered dye from the Color Run…which I didn’t realize because 99% of the time I just have dogs in the back seat of my car. Blue dye all over her cute coral dress! DAMN YOU COLOR RUN. I should really pay someone to deep clean the inside of my car for me. Baby wipes ain’t cuttin’ it.

two blondes and an 80s background
The previous night at Populuxe was “80’s Prom Night”, which didn’t appeal to Josh and I at all, so we didn’t go. 90’s? 70’s? 60’s??? I’m there. But 80’s? Ugh, what a terrible decade for fashion.

bike geek
Bike Geek. On Sunday I accompanied Josh for the first 12 miles of his 20 mile practice run.

Joshy running 20 miles
He finally signed up for the “Rock and Roll” Marathon that takes place later this month. I’m still trying to figure out if I can watch Sir Mix A Lot play without having to participate in the marathon. I’m gonna assume yes!

Joshy mid run
12 miles on the interurban trail was juuuust enough for me (and my period). I finally got my own padded girly shorts from REI so my nether regions were in comfort.

happy biking face
Happy biking face! That lipstain from Makeup For Ever is seriously the best. Wouldn’t go riding without it!

lambs ear plant
The beautiful lamb’s ear plant, which feels like velvet. Mmmm hmmmmmm.

Today after wrestling the pros and cons in my head for at LEAST three full minutes I went and got another shellac manicure. I’m pretty sure I’m addicted at this point. Could be worse, I suppose. Right?
