Mukilteo, here we go-go

Lizzy on the beach
What a geeeeeek. Sunday was beautiful and sunny, so we finally drove over to the Mukilteo beach that everyone and their mom had been raving about.

piers
It was pretty, but since there was no beach-y off-leash dog park, Edmonds beach still wins, as far as I’m concerned.

Mukilteo wave
There was an extremely popular Ivars and several ice cream stands. It’s amazing how many people were chowing down on ice cream cones in February. You give Seattle-ites a little sun, and we go CRAZY!

Mukilteo beach
Josh walked around all day without complaints, but later that evening he called me downstairs to look at his foot and it was massive, puffy, and purple. He had sprained his ankle on Saturday and then spent all day Sunday walking around on it. Typical! LOOK AT IT GROSS.

Joshy on the beach
He’s impervious to pain, or something. It’s a shame men can’t carry and birth babies!

fancy stump
The face on this stump (driftwood?) reminds me of my old old old old faded ankle tattoo. Lately I’ve been fantasizing about getting something tattooed over the top of it. But what? That’s the problem.

doggy walk
The weather is supposed to be sunny and around 60 degrees alllll weeeeeek looooong. I love it.

cube
Kind of loving this “cinemascope” effect, too.

Bear Cub goes over an obstacle
The nearest off-leash dog park in Mukilteo turned out to be a fenced-in block of mud, but we did our best. Here’s Bear Schnubs being forced to go over some obstacles, which she isn’t very fond of.

mud park
So much mud! Talk about earth tones.

What is going on, blog? My (now former) boss took Josh and I and co-workers out to a nice dinner last night, to “celebrate” me quitting. That’s the way to do it, babycakes–give two weeks notice and leave on good terms. It’s a small world, after all, and just in case I have to go back to this job, I wanted to make sure everyone still liked me. PHEW. Josh and I have been eating a lot of salad lately. I started doing Blogilates again, and it is KICKING MY ASS. We’re on Season 8 of the Friends! Now if you’ll excuse me…I need to Google what kind of marinade goes best with swordfish.

Speaking of swordfish…

I listened to this tape way too many times.

  1. The “geeeeek” at the beginning made me snooooorrrrrt with laaaauuughter. You still got it.

Have you found a copy of “Ascending Peculiarity” about Edward Gorey, yet? I need someone with whom to talk about it. I got a library copy, but now I think it’s a good reference book and I must own it.
