BB creams, sparkly items and more Ab Fab

bb creams
After reading this article by Cat Marnell and a series of reviews by the Muse I spent about 2 weeks obsessively researching blemish balms, or “bb” creams. They promise it ALL: spf, a tint, and ingredients to make your skin look nicer–they’re incredibly popular in Asia, and many of them include whitening ingredients. I fell for the hype (plus I have a thing for multi-purpose products) and ordered this little sample kit online.

in the night office
Verdict: unimpressive so far, but I used a tiny dollop at night with dim lighting and a slew of other products, and haven’t given it the Natural Light challenge. It’s also possible that since I ordered from Amazon, I actually have fake product (gasp!). Who can say? Stay tuned.

sparkle motions
No work lined up this week so it’s off to the fabric store I go today for copious amounts of thread (the serger sucks it up quickly) and some fabulous fabric for the Revolution. p.s., 2012 is all about Pettipants Revolution, so anticipate a loooooot of taaaaaalk about fabrics and serging and starting a business. A LOT.

I also decided that 2012 is going to be the year that I start running. I MEAN IT! Don’t roll your eyes!

silver glitter jewelry box
Here’s the silver glitter jewelry box I bought myself for the family gift exchange game on Christmas Eve. I picked number 1, so that meant I got first pick of all the presents AND last pick too, but I still wanted my own present after all the gifts were opened. The Boy ended up with a nice pair of ceramic knives, which I was really excited about but haven’t cracked open yet. His family is really into kitchen stuff.

He actually asked for a flour sifter for Christmas–which is hilarious, because who does all the baking in this family? ME. Still, I just always assumed flour sifting meant sort of loosely shaking the flour around in the measuring cup? Heh. Nope. Now we have a flour sifter. Um, success? Let’s place our bets as to when he’ll actually use it: I estimate December 2013.

silver eyeshadow
The silver glitter eyeshadow I also purchased myself for Christmas Eve. Pretty, pretty?

Oohhweee! The coffee’s hitting! “Let’s get celebritied up!” Speaking of which, here’s the second episode of the new newer new new newish new “Ab Fab”,

“She looks good, doesn’t she?”

“Yeah. Well, she’s French.”

“I know darling but you know…Bardot…”

“Yeah, well if you can’t save the face, save the animals. Huh-huh-huh-huh.”

  1. I loved that episode…especially the Jamaican nurse now working at the nail shop, still telling Edina that she’s fat…20 years later! Good old AbFab!
You inspired me to do some more shopping, so I promptly went downtown after I woke up. Had a lovely falafal wrap, and then…off to Sephora! Since Dorothy got me another bottle of that tinted moisturizer which was too dark, I exchanged it along with something else in addition to my gift cards…and well, I must say that even with the gimmicks of that Urban Decay new Book of Shadows that I acquired (down from 64.00 to 44.00!!!) that everything that came with it was fabulous. I tried to buy the Naked set…and…well, I couldn’t do it! I need colour and I have plenty of neutrals to get me by…but you know..colour is good!! I finally found a concealer pen from their Sephora line that is fabulous…yes dear, I am ready to start the 2012 with dewy skin again πŸ™‚ Then of course I treated myself to a teal metallic waterproof pencil from their in store line too. la la la… I am on cloud 9!

    Thanks for inspiring me!!

  2. P.S. There is a Toki Doki pallet and a Kat Von D pallet you liked on clearance online right now, and the 3rd is the last day for 20% off your purchase…you should spoil yourself! πŸ™‚ xoxo

  3. I loved that episode too–I’m so relieved that it’s funny! Yay for make-up inspiration! I haven’t bought the Naked palette either, I know what you mean–it’s kind of underwhelming, right? I have fun playing in Corinne’s make-up but when it comes to making my own choices I have a hard time. unless it’s sparkly. then it’s eeeeasy…
