dog park dog park dog park day!

dog park
On Monday Corinne and I took Maggie and Molly and Corinne’s roommate’s extremely manic new dog Opi to beautiful Magnuson Park.

checkin it out
Before Corinne brought Opi into the dog park area, she walked her outside the perimeter of the dog park to calm her down.

Corinne is walking a dog
Hark! What do we have here? Corinne walking a dog! Her face here reminds me of Elizabeth Taylor in “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” saying “I don’t braaaay!

Corinne and Opi
Opi (well, “Penelope”, which is horrible, Opi for short) is a one-year-old pug mix, and very much still a puppy. On the way to the park she took a dump in the back of my car. Lovely.

Corinne and Liz at Magnuson
No sense in getting mad about it! I have years and yeeeears of experience dealing with naughty dogs. Luna used to eat one shoe out of each pair of my shoes. Maggie ate furniture, books…hell, Maggie ate EVERYTHING.

Bear Cub prance
Bear Cub, at age 3 1/2, still doesn’t consistently come when I call, which can be the most irritating of all.

the gang
Still! Would I change a thing? Nerrope. Do I ever regret raising them, puppy stage and all? Hell no! LOOK AT THIS FAAAAACE.

closer to the water
The weather could not have been more beautiful on Monday–and thank goodness we took advantage of it, since it’s been crap ever since.

heading to the beach
Corinne lives only a few minutes away from this park. Lucky!

two dogs swimming
My animals immediately made a beeline for the lake. Opi was a little more reserved. This was her first time at a dog park. Since she currently has a 0% success rate of coming when called, Corinne kept her on the leash the entire time.

beautiful Lake Washington
It would be embarrassing to lose someone else’s dog at a dog park!

Liz on the shore with Opi
I just wore my gym clothes to the park. With a layer of spf 30, of course.

Wet animals charge!

joy
We finished off a perfect afternoon (dog shit in car and all) with massive sub sandwiches from Tub’s, after which I had GERD…again. Ever since I went on antibiotics for 17 days in February I’ve had the stomach problems of an elderly woman (shut up!). It’s like my body doesn’t want me to eat like a pig anymore, dammit! It’s like it’s rebelling! BOO!!!

Happy Friday, blog-log-eroonies! Whatcha doin’ this weekend? Feel free to COMMENT ANY TIME. You know I MISS THAT!

  1. I’ve had excellent results from over the counter pro-biotic/macrobiotic culture supplements after an antibiotic cycle. Basically a concentrated approach to eating a lot of yogurt. Some people make it a part of their vitamin regimen. Personally , I feel that’s unnecessary. Take it for a couple of weeks when needed. Oh..and remember to refrigerate it. Good luck.

    1. Actually I did go to the health food store and purchase some strong probiotics back in Feb and took them for a couple of weeks. I considered taking probiotics as part of my vitamin routine, but after a while it became just one more thing to take…

  2. I’m taking a road trip to Seattle this weekend to check out the Gauguin exhibit before it ends! Let me know if you have any recommendations for fun restaurants or other things I should check while I’m there?

    1. We just went to the exhibit last night! It was crowded, but I’m glad we did it. Go to Pike Place Market, of course. I love going down there–so much fun, great people watching, awesome stands, friendly people. Um…check out the EMP, it’s right under the space needle. The space needle is orange now…that’s weird. Check out http://www.thestranger.com, it’s full of goings on and restaurant reviews and what not. Have fun! Seattle is a fun city! 🙂
