San Fran Love, Part 9: Fort Point

bridge view
Hallo, blogfriends! In today’s San Fran post we are headed underneath the Golden Gate Bridge to check out Fort Point. My Aunt Lisa recommended it. She mentioned she had taken some photographs there some years ago. She worked for many years as a professional photographer’s assistant, and she is an excellent photographer herself.

It may have been mid-70’s to low 80’s around San Francisco, but down by the water it was quite chilly. And windy. The salt air made my skin and hair feel sticky.

holding steady
Always climbing something, that one. He’s off to go mountain biking today and I’m going to the gym to explore the Elliptical trainer (sigh).

Alcatraz and sailboat
Alcatraz again!

weathered chain
He took about 6 different shots of this rusty old chain. “Art”.

Liz by the bridge
Yesterday we went for another 2 hour mountain hike but this one, thankfully, was NOT insanely steep and I can walk today. Maggie, on the other hand, is limping. It may be time to see the vet about that limp, poor little girl.

Liz and Joshy by the bridge
What should we be for Halloween this year??? We have to do a couples thing, that’s the way it works. If we lost 60 pounds (each) we could be Andy and Edie.

Fort Point
We headed inside Fort Point to check it out.

on top of Fort Point
Once inside, one of the people working there hustled us up the stairs–it was the end of their “showing” for the day. We were allowed a few minutes to snap photos.

windy upskirt
My dress did a Marilyn Monroe–good thing I was wearing leggings underneath. Hey, guess what? I no longer feel bad about my weight gain because Lady Gaga gained 20 pounds too, see? (did anyone ask her when she‘s due? Lord help me)

inside the Fort
The inside.

the spiral staircase
On the way down you could choose the outdoor stairs or the inside spiral staircase. I chose the stairs, the Boy chose the spiral.

watch yer step
He took about 20 photos of it. See, it’s not hard to take 644 photos in a whole week!

old cannon
Nice cannon!

Join me this week for the final installations: the wharf! More art! And RAINBOWS!
