Running, hypnosis and a birthday

Earth day 1
Saturday morning, bright and eeeeearrrrly (note the squinty eyes). I woke up at 7 am and did NOT want to run, but luckily I’m not married to myself, because the Boy made it pretty clear that he was going to do the Earth Day 5k with or without moi. So I went.

Earth day 4
There I am! My performance was actually better than the two 5k’s we did last year, so maybe those practice runs did pay off. Of course, I could barely walk yesterday, but that’s alright. It was worth it!

Earth day 2
At any rate I feel a lot more positive about our next run, the Color Run! We did it last year and it was really fun. Any excuse to wear a tutu, that’s what I always say.

dressed up for Josh's birthday
The Boy’s birthday was yesterday, but we went out for his birthday dinner Saturday night to an expensive, delicious sushi restaurant in Fremont. I wore my “eatin’ smock”…

…and ‘member last year when I pointed out the only two good things about weight gain? There they are, one and two. Thanks, Victoria’s Secret!

rainbow chip cupcake
I made him rainbow chip cupcakes for his birthday cake, because he had never experienced rainbow chip cake, and that’s JUST WRONG.

Speaking of cupcakes, Corinne and I went to our 3-hour weight loss hypnosis class yesterday. I did hypnosis in the past for smoking/drinking, so it was nothing new to me, but we both enjoyed it. The class came with a 20 minute c.d. that we’re supposed to listen to every day for a week. I figured I could work it into naptime. I am highly suggestible. At any rate, I ate 4 cupcakes yesterday and woke up over a pound lighter! Yay for me!

new backpack
For his birthday, he bought himself a new backpack, ski crampons, a (used) mountain bike and requested a phone charger, which I bought him. We are never really surprised on our birthdays/Christmas, but at least we always get what we want! I think he felt a little guilty after he bought himself the mountain bike because he came home and told me I could order a dress on Modcloth I had been wanting for ages. So I did. Happy Monday!

  1. Hi Liz!
That is The cutest dress! I’ve looked at Mod Cloth’s website before, but have never bought anything. Do their clothes really run true-to-size as the website says? Anyway, hope you’re doing well. I want to juice cleanse, too just a bit nervous to try it.
    Julie 🙂

    1. Hi Julie! The dress is cute, although now that I’ve ordered a few dresses from Modcloth I think they tend to be a little too short for my body, and overpriced for the quality. Maybe it’s better this way–I used to spend every day ogling Modcloth dresses, so I’m saving money! I seem to do a juice cleanse once or twice a year, because it takes me that long to forget how silly they are. 😉
