Didn’t I blow your mind this time, didn’t I?

singl orange poppy
The poppies that I planted last year came back…well, one of them, anyway. Interesting that it was a HUGE PALE PINK POPPY WITH A BLACK CENTER on the packaging, but these tiny orange poppy wannabees came out instead! Hmmmmm, seeds from Lowe’s. Hmmmmm.

sunflowers
Joshy bought me sunflowers, because he is kind.

Schnubs ahead
More nature photos, you say? Why yes, yes I DO have more nature photos. We’ve been hiking every weekend for the past __ weeks, so they add up.

beautiful forest
Can you even believe how beautiful that is? It looks like a dream. No photo editing required.

rock formation
I think on Sunday this weekend we’re going to go “day camping”. Dogs + food + camp chairs = good times.

tiny waterfall
We hiked to this same waterfall about a month ago, and it was significantly larger then.

rogs on the rocks
Dogs scrabbling on the rocks.

happy hiking face
Geek!

footbridge
A little bridge.

Bonus: some videos I forgot about!

Video of the tiny waterfall, with my characteristic “shake”. Youtube always offers to “fix” the shakiness for me, but I think it actually makes it look worse.

Twin waterfalls from a previous hike.

Aaaaand Franklin Falls, the big ‘un. Me videotaping Josh taking a picture of me videotaping. THRILLS and CHILLS!

Today I discovered “lite” Jamba Juice. And something called “ASMR’, thanks to Corinne, who tells me they have videos on the youtubes that will give you the “tingles”.

“Sometimes when I’m watching movies and someone’s dangling over a cliff, my feet tingle,” I told her. “Is it like that? Fear tingles?”

She told me no, not fear tingles, “happy” tingles. I’ll just have to take her word for it.

What did you learn today, blogreader?

  1. I ran across those asmr videos a while back while looking up some back stretching exercises. Some of the “triggers” they refer to are kind of amusing. Scratching noises etc. Never gave me any sort of pleasurable tingles but there are many ( on Reddit for instance) who give it some sort of credence. You know what some of them are useful for though… putting you to sleep. Literally. I’ve put on headphones and one of those asmrmassage video/mp3’s and its as lulling as one of those white noise rain 2 hour loops. For me at least. I’ll pass on the whispering crap though, that just annoys me.

    1. I think that’s what Corinne is using it for–to fall asleep! We have a fan going year-round to provide us with our “white” noise.
