Mountain air

mountain air
Anyone else kind of shocked that it’s July already? I mean, really? 2013 is halfway over? Crraaaaaazy, mee-yan.

Bear Cub ahead
Yesterday we drove to Snoqualmie Pass and hiked up a mountain to get to a ski lift, for a gorgeous view. It was HOT, baby. Real hot. Thank God I got the air conditioning in my car fixed last year.

Alpine air
Speaking of air conditioning, I spoke with my mother this morning and their air conditioning has been broken for the last 2 days. In record heat. I’m talking–110 degrees is the high temp for Boise today. Luckily, someone was over fixing it when we spoke. My poor parents!

mountain flowers
Not to mention their dishwasher is broken, and their barbecue doesn’t work anymore. Merp.

mountain view
Sometimes when money is low you have to do without, but you can’t do without an air conditioner in this heat.

summer ski lift
Hey look, it’s the closest I’ve been to a ski lift in over a decade! There was one chair that seemed close-ish, and I tried to get up into it, but I have terrible upper body strength so it wasn’t happening. Shame. Would have been a cute picture.

pretty view
Isn’t it beautiful?

lift and mountains
I’m bringing my mother 3 pairs of size 6 pants that I’ve given up hope of ever fitting into again. I’m okay with that (I have to be okay with that). Size 8 is fine! Barring a drug addiction or serious medical issue, I’m never gonna weigh 130 again, let’s be realistic. I’m also bringing her two unworn size 36B bras. I got fitted at Nordstrom’s a while back and discovered that I’m actually a size 34C–so I was left with a drawer full of size 36Bs. Who knew? Apparently most women are wearing the wrong size of bra.

dogs trying to stay cool
I have a couple of exhausted dogs today, that’s for sure. After we enjoyed the view we drove down closer to the lake, and biked until we found a semi-decent spot to do a little sunning/swimming.

little beach
Not much of a beach, but it worked for our purposes. I can’t WAIT to go camping this year!

hot hot sun
Too bright for decent self-portraits. Impossible to see what you’re doing! Josh tried to play “Angry Birds” and I laughed at him.

Joshy across the way
He dared to swim over to the little “island” across the way. The dogs looked like they were going after him, then gave up halfway and came back. They were both limping last night–my poor little girls!

Joshy in the water
All in all, it was a lovely day outside in the sun.

Currently I’m simmering in my fake tan, nails freshly stickered, ready to start packing up. Considering a little inside treadmill exercise as I don’t think the rogs are going to want to do much of anything today. And I’m leaving for Boise! I may or may not blog while I’m there–sometimes it’s just nice to enjoy a vacation without being tethered to a computer. At any rate, happy July 1st, blog logs!

  1. Thanks for these gorgeous shots, I’m pretending I was with you! I think my problem is no one ever invites me to go to places like this and I wouldn’t know where to start. I’m still a beach bum and I’m lost here come summertime. Have fun with your folks and stay cool. Screw the number on the scale, I don’t own own, just go by how you feel 🙂
