This is not Halloween (featuring Madonna)

Josh's finished makeup looked great this morning! As for me, I wore a neon wig and false eyelashes to work, and felt cute! Happy Halloween!
Since today/tomorrow actually are Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead), I figure this picture is extra appropriate. Josh posted this on Facebook last night with the caption: “Liz refused to do my make-up but I guess this looks okay”. The nerve! I mean, sure, he’s right, I did refuse, only because who wants to get up two hours earlier on a working day to do someone else’s make-up? I didn’t even want to do my own make-up that day. I mean, if he was truly incapable or was paralyzed from the neck down or something I’m sure I would have taken care of it. I wasn’t needed, though, other than to give tips, provide make-up, and verbal support, ie. “That looks fabulous!” One of my gay followers on Instagram commented that he looked cute, and I told him, “YOU’VE MADE IT!”

It’s Friiiiiday! I am so happy to be working again. Those 2.5 weeks off yielded very little, except maybe a slightly cleaner house and the beginning of the Phyllis Diller painting and a LOT of horror film/show watching. The only plans I have this weekend are to re-paint my nails, exercise, and attend my WW meeting on Sunday, so they can award me for acheiving “Lifetime” status, so I no longer have to pay them 40 dollars a month. Yes! Happy weekend and Happy Dia de los Muertos as well!

Bonus: This song has been in my head all day, so here you go, maybe it will be in your head too. This video is notable for Madonna’s ultra skinny 90’s eyebrows, and the creepiness of Udo Kier. Watching it now I realize that the entire video is an homage to Warhol’s Factory, and Madonna is the “Edie”, which I didn’t pick up when it came out in 1992. Hey, is that Holly Woodlawn I spy? Love her.

  1. I played this album on a loop for about two years, then I probably played it once a day for another five. Still, I can never get enough of it … I wanted M’s brows but was too scared to do it. But I DID invest in Chanel’s Rouge Noir lippie and wore it to DEATH! She’s so vulnerable in this vid. Hooray for hitting your lifetime achievement! I had my WW key on my keyring for years and lost it only recently. Josh is amazing. xoxox

    1. It’s really good. “Bad Girl” could have been my theme song in my 20’s. Thanks to Christopher, I now have all the Madonna I ever wanted, and I seem to want to hear “Confessions on a Dance Floor” a LOT.

You were in WW?! And here I thought you were one of those naturally waif-ish women that I’m always jealous of. 🙂

      1. I joined after I had Bella to lose some baby weight. She was Baby #4, born only 19 months after Baby #3 and I was sick to the back teeth of not being able to wear clothes I loved. 😉 xoxoxoxoox
