Phyllis in progress...still...
Still workin’ on ol’ Phyllis here. Well, I’m the one who forced myself to do this challenge: first, go back to painting on LARGE canvases, and second, to paint someone old (er). With sun damage and wrinkles and crooked teeth. So this painting is taking me longer than usual. I’m not ready to abandon her yet, though…

Josh picked up a rainbow sticker for me with my favorite radio station on it
Josh wisely picked up this rainbow KEXP sticker for me at the rock and roll marathon. My car needed a rainbow sticker anyway, and I love KEXP! Why, I was just listening to them on my way home from work today and they mentioned something about a special “Gay-EXP” extravaganza, celebrating musical gays for four hours.

Also, Seattle Pride is this weekend! When I reminded Josh that the parade is this Sunday, he said, “So who are you going to go with?”

HA HA. I’ve always gone with him in the past, the little turd-monger, but now that he spends 90% of every weekend hanging out with his uncle I see a lot less of him. Harrumph. Who’s gonna go to Pride with me this year?

In our front yard.
Some lovely pink perennials in our front yard. I love how all the perennials came back twice as big and showy this year.

Gorgeous roses.
Someone’s house that we walk by frequently on our doggie walks always has the most beautiful roses. If I ever catch them out in the yard I’ll be sure to compliment them.

Our walk today.
I was just thinking today about how integral the daily dog walk is for me and the girls and how “off” I feel when I don’t do it.

Bear Cub played with a baby rabbit at the park today. So cute! I didn't let her eat it. ❤️
Speaking of dog walk, here’s Bear Cub’s snout and a teeny weeny little baby rabbit I found her playing with at the park yesterday. After a moment I pulled her away…if she started chewing on the rabbit I would have felt awful. A moment after that I witnessed Maggie TEARING across the dog park after the mommy rabbit. This distracted me and I dropped Bear Cub’s leash and then both dogs completely ignored me for the next 5 minutes, frantically searching for rabbits. Thank goodess Animal Control wasn’t around to witness that moment of pet owner failure.

Here’s a little video I made on my phone during the moment where Bear Cub finds the rabbit. Excuse the gum chewing.

Hells bells, I almost expected to get a ticket for the animals being off leash yesterday because I was in such a bad mood, I thought, why not? Why not today? But today, I had a nice BM, and the world is BRIGHTER! I just bought ingredients to make a giant vat of chicken yakisoba tonight and some assorted fruit Popsicles, and the girls and I are gonna hit the dog park. Bad mood gone. Thank goodness…ain’t nobody got time for that.
