Knocked Up

I was so enamored with @katebosworthโ€™s lipstick color in this pic I used the last of my Sephora gift card (thanks @kimsbaker) to purchase it. โ€œSo Sofiaโ€, by Marc Jacobs. ๐Ÿ’•
Heyooooo! Could you tell by the title of this blog post that I am pregnant? It’s true! According to my app I am 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and Baby C is the size of a poppy seed. Yessss. The photo above is me emulating Kate Bosworth by buying the lipstick color she had on in that particular photo, which caught my fancy. “So Sophia” by Marc Jacobs. I’m not even really a lipstick person, but it’s a nice color.

๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿพ
I’ve had one at-home pregnancy test and two blood tests so far which all confirm the presence of Baby C, which is great, because I don’t really have any symptoms this time.

I bought this because I thought my son would like the little bear...but letโ€™s face it, that chocolate is for MAMA. ๐Ÿ˜‹
Last time, by the time my first beta test rolled around my boobs felt like they were going to fall off. This time? Nothin’. Seriously. It’s so bizarre to be pregnant and not have any symptoms.

Maggie is now arranging her dog body so every part but the important part is on the pee pad. Is she messing with me??? ๐Ÿ˜
However I will say this…when the baby woke everyone up at 3:30 this morning and I trudged down to the guest room to fall asleep I was awake from 3:30-5:00. Anxiety about not working. Hunger. TWO bathroom trips. Cold feet! THAT is some pregnancy bullshit, right there.

Grammy Kim is visiting! ๐Ÿ’™
My mother was really great the entire time she visited us recently. She cooked, she did dishes, she cleaned the floors, she put up with my mood swings, which were partially from the progesterone I have to take twice a day but also from being in Baby Limbo.

Trying to eat mixed nuts near Maggie dog.
No more Baby Limbo! Now it’s just Baby Town. For like 10 long months.

Josh made a pear Dutch baby for breakfast. ๐Ÿ˜‹
This is a pear “Dutch baby” that Josh made us one morning. We were not particularly impressed, but it’s fun to have a variety in your carbs.

Watching a beloved classic from my childhood today, โ€œBig Businessโ€. ๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ
I watched “Big Business” while my mother was in town, which I hadn’t seen since I was a little kid. I loved that movie as a child. Maybe I should watch “Mannequin” next. Do you think it holds up? Haw haw. Doubt it.

Oh mannnn I was getting so cocky about an early spring. โ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ
Here I was being SO cocky about the warm winter and BLAM we got hit with a crazy amount of snow. Goo has missed a total of 5 days of daycare now, all snow days.

Nooooooooo
My backyard has looked like this for like two weeks. It’s been gross. No dog walks! No Mommy walks!

Grammy and baby enjoying some granola.
Josh took the baby out in the snow a few times, but I had no interest in all. Plus the first week after my embryo transfer I’m supposed to keep my feet warm. Snow doesn’t help.

Little snow Cub โ„๏ธ
Bear Cub seems to mind the snow the least. She still hangs out on the back porch sometimes, seemingly oblivious. Josh has a picture of her sitting on the back porch with a light dusting of snow on her back.

The deserted pool area at my gym this morning. I soaked my freezing cold feet in the hot tub for a few. Stupid Raynaudโ€™s!
I wasn’t going to let a little snow force me to stay home, so I kept going to the gym, which was pleasantly empty. Look at the pool! Not a soul in sight! I soaked my cold feet in the hot tub.

You can always tell when Grammy Kim is visiting! ๐Ÿ˜
Grammy Kim specialty. She also made meat loaf, a pan of macaroni and cheese, and enchiladas. MMMmmmmm.

Bear Cub love. ๐Ÿ’•
I love my son but it is nice having a break from him while he’s in daycare. I wouldn’t be able to type this with him hanging around. Or look for a new job, which is my next activity when I finish this.

Is it Art, Eddie? Or a plastic bin that shouldnโ€™t have gone into the dishwasher?
Me thinks this wasn’t supposed to go in the dishwasher, do you agree?

Good advice, Dove chocolate wrapper. ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ
Today is Valentine’s Day, and my husband bought me a card, two boxes of chocolate and some vintage jewelry. He is a very good husband. I got him and the baby a dog card, and I got Josh some chocolate peanut butter hearts.

Some of the art hanging in the coffee shop at the library.
Mumsie and I went to the library, and they had some local art hanging in the lobby. I recently discovered (thanks Mom) that I enjoy Sue Grafton’s “alphabet” series, and if I alternate a Grafton with an Agatha Christie I can blast through a new book about every two days. I love reading! I love it when I have the time and attention span to read, too!

Shel Silverstein was one...interesting-looking dude, eh? ๐Ÿ˜ณ
This somewhat terrifying picture of Shel Silverstein is on the back of “The Giving Tree”. Yikes, dude!

Art at the vet. ๐Ÿถ
Art at the vet. Poor old Maggie dog. She wears the vest with the handles every day now, because we need it to lug her up and down the stairs, her back legs just can’t do it. Dammit I hate it when dogs get old!

Untitled
Self-portrait during Baby Limbo. This is the last time I’ll ever be pregnant. Sigh.

๐Ÿ’™
He’s going to be such a good big brother. You should see the loving way he snuggles and kisses his stuffed animals.

My backyard this morning. โ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธโ„๏ธ
IT’S COOL, YOU CAN LEAVE NOW, SNOW.

These icicles look dangerous
YOU TOO, ICE.

Mumsie and Joshy at breakfast this morning. ๐Ÿ’š
My mother requested that we have breakfast at “Patty’s Egg Nest” while she was here, and I took the opportunity to order something I had been waiting until I was pregnant to order: the apple strudel French toast. MAN it was good.

Mmmm glitter cardstock, I wanna take you ALL home with me. ๐Ÿ˜โœจโœจโœจ
The baby and I went to Hobby Lobby so I could buy him some more Play-Do. This glitter cardstock caught my roving magpie eye, of course.

Oh hello beautiful blue sky! I missed you! ๐Ÿ’™
Yesterday afternoon…was looking nice! Those blue skies were a welcome sight.

I updated my Bitmoji to reflect my new body for the next 9 months, and also my breakfast request. Like NOW.

And finally, I updated my Bitmoji to make her pregnant. And now I want pancakes. Talk to you later, blog! Hopefully next time I blog I’ll be working again.
