Say hello to my little friend
Hey gurl! It’s summer again! I love this time of year. Low 70’s, kids freshly out of school, and iced coffee never tasted so good. I took the boys to get a donut this morning, and then we went to Hobby Lobby to check out their pathetic tiny amount of fabric. I was planning on driving to Ben Franklin but it’s 30 MINUTES AWAY and the children were/are annoying. So there’s that. And of course HB didn’t have the fabric I wanted. They did have a tee-shirt with a comic Jesus frowning saying “You mad, bro?” I don’t know what that means but it’s kind of hilarious.
Book number 3, “Sloopy Bear and the Talent Show”. Frustrated with IngramSpark’s interface, print quality and the length of time it takes to receive paperbacks and hardbacks, I recently changed to Blurb. Within 5 days I had a decent quality paperback in my hot little hands. Yes!
Here’s a picture (in progress) from my latest book, “The Sparkly Secret of Bigfoot Woods”. It’s my favorite to date. I’m in the process of ordering a hardback, although it’s going to cost me 20 dollars, so it may not be the best way to make money.
At the local Farmer’s Market with my friend Rachel. I bought some stickers, as I do. We are still going to yoga once a week together, and I recently added some bodyweight exercises to my day–like sit-ups, push ups (yuck) and tricep dips. This little change was enough to break me out of my weight loss plateau! I’m finally under 150, and on my way (slowly) to 140. A good weight for me. The weight I was in my early 30’s. Yes ma’am.
Of course these sorts of things will always prevent me from being “TOO SKINNY” (MAH HA HAAAAA). This is mama’s first cronut! I bought it at an overpriced bakery one day with my little baby. It was good, but nothing beats a good old Korean hole-in-the-wall donut shop, like the one the boys and I went to this morning. Mmmmm.
Joshy accompanied me to my second art show of this year, the “artist garage sale” put on by the Schack Art Center downtown. Everything was set up to go great and then BAM it literally poured rain the entire fucking day, way cutting down on foot traffic. I mean it was POURING. I sold a couple things, but it was disappointing.
I’ll be offering my wares again in August, at the lovely Art in the Garden show in Ballard. I was supposed to do it last year, but came down with Covid the DAY BEFORE THE SHOW OOOOOOH BABY was I ever mad! I also wanted to do “Fresh Paint” in downtown Everett this summer but I was way too late to register, dang it. Maybe that’s okay…I looked at the registration and the vendor fee is 350$??? Girl, I probably wouldn’t even make that much in sales. Sheesh.
I bought this for Corinne, texted her this pic and lo and behold, she actually texted me back! We hadn’t had a date in over two years. I went over to her place yesterday (she still has a boyfriend, a dog, and four cats!) and we went out and had a donut, stopped at the pet store, and had some nice conversation. Love that girl. Ta ta blog!
