Somebody went under a dock, and there they saw a rock

new items in the planter
Exciting new bulbs in the planter this year! I also filled up two of the little greenhouses we like–one with flower seeds, one with vegetable seeds.

narcissus tag
The Boy picked Narcissus…

graffiti tulip tag
…I picked the “Graffiti” tulip! Yeah! How perfect. And it’s purple.

I found a few interesting abandoned sewing projects over the weekend while we initiated spring cleaning. I picked the smallest room to start cleaning–the sewing room–but just because it’s the smallest doesn’t mean it’s not crammed with an overwhelming shitload of stuff. Two packrats + tiny home/no garage = crowded rooms. However, I have started making sacrifices! Why, I even added a crappy, unable-to-rescue wig to the giveaway box!

unfinished neon minky dress
I know that I started this neon minky dress before Burning Man 2009, but abandoned it. It wasn’t clear why I abandoned it until I tried it on–completely unflattering, shapeless box. Maybe I can make it into a throw pillow? That minky fabric feels so goo-ooo-ood.

unfinished rainbow stripe knit dress
This unfinished knit dress is actually semi-cute, and just needs a little finishing to wear. If I was motivated it would take me 15 minutes to finish.

hideous sparkle fur bolero
Er. I found the yellow neon mesh gloves and this hideous lavender sparkle fur bolero in a playa dust-smothered grocery sack. I put the bolero on long enough for the Boy to take 3 photos and it started itching like crazy, even though I was thoughtful enough to line the damn thing. The fur is all matted up from the playa–and funny, I don’t even remember wearing this at Burning Man! Some things just don’t come back from the desert in the same condition–wigs, brains, the inside of my car…

blonde fall ponytail
I found two of Cassy’s old blonde clip-on falls at the bottom of a costume bin, and was horrified/fascinated by the fact that they match my hair perfectly. Who knew? I will definitely exploit these in a photo shoot later on, I just know it.

Ooh! Ooooh! Speaking of wigs, the Boy called me this morning to tell me he heard on KEXP that this summer the B-52’s are playing at Marymoor! THRILL! I’ve been obsessed with them for half my life–and you know, they’re not getting any younger! MUST SEE THE B-52’S THIS SUMMER.

In case you need a reminder of the awesomeness (and wigs!), here’s “Rock Lobster”:

Never gets old!

rearranged
A little re-arranging was done this weekend. Spring cleaning is ex-haust-ing.

cleared mantel
The mantel is a little less cluttered…

plant, Burning Man jar and globe
…the globe has a home, next to the Burning Man jar. T-h-r-i-l-l.

groovy wallpaper
“Being Elmo” is a sweet documentary–far better than I would have guessed, considering Elmo gives me gas. And just look at that amazing wallpaper! I want that wallpaper!

Today’s goal: post pink pettipants to Etsy. Consider: painting Corinne’s tits.

“Are you going to call the painting “Corinne’s Tits”?” asked the Boy.

“Ooh–that’s a good idea!” I replied.

“No, no it’s not.” he frowned at me. Gee, why not? Where do your eyes fall when you look at it? Exactly.
