Camping at Hyas Lake part 2: fly fishing and wet pets

through the trees
Soooo Flickr finally decides to come around after being all wonky this morning. Oh, Flickr. Why must you be so popular? I’ve been using Flickr since 2007 and until I’m convinced otherwise, I still think it’s the best site to upload your photos to. It’s just that it’s SO good that sometimes it gets overloaded, and then I can’t post photos when I want to. Boo hoo. Back to the camping pics!

watchful Schnubs
Bear Cub being our watchdog. In Real Time, I am patiently waiting for the sun to come out, but I suspect I was fooled again by weather.com. Looks like it’s gonna be a grey, overcast walk at the dog park today.

Here’s a little video of our arrival at Hyas Lake. I could not remember the name of the lake for two days straight…after the 7th or so time of asking Josh the name I finally just typed Hyas Lake into my iphone under notes. Sad, isn’t it? I spend most of my workday doing cognitive therapy and I can’t remember the name of a lake!

This morning at the grocery store I purchased cheese, bread, and canned soup so I can repeat my dinner from last night without having to eat “out”. Oh man, I just remembered that I forgot to buy something chocolate-y! Must remedy that situation, STAT. Lately it’s all about Lindt’s dark chocolate squares with “a touch of sea salt”….mfffggggsssssst.

This morning I was doing dishes and an ENORMOUS spider suddenly appeared and started scrambling around in the second sink, the one that doesn’t feature the garbage disposal (of course). I rinsed the tarantula down the drain with lots and lots and lots of hot water and a little Simple Green, then capped the drain off with a rubber stopper. I just know when I lift it up he’s gonna spring out again, so I’ll let Josh take care of that later. Heh.

fly fishing attempt number one
Speaking of. Here he is attempting to fly fish the first time. He made two attempts on this trip, and neither one were successful. Hey wait, I think I have a video of him in action!

Tryyyyyy just a little bit harderrrrr…

Josh fly fishing while Maggie thrashes around
Crazy Maggie Time! Maggie is currently crashed out at my feet, watching longingly as I plow through an avocado-smothered salad. Man, avocado is the best.

Maggie on the shore
This water dog loves the water.

Maggie likes the water
Look at her go! Speaking of rogs, I suppose it’s time for me to take them on our daily walkies. Yesterday we went to a newish dog park and met three rowdy “GoldenDoodles”…Bear Cub was not impressed.

Stay tuned for more camping photos…you know I like to draaaaaaag it out!
