Go on and kiss the girl

Happy Monday/Veterans’s day, blerg readers. I just returned from the park, where I spent 10 minutes talking about dogs to 3 children whose ages I could not, for the life of me, even guess at. The littlest one may have been 6, the oldest one 14, and the middle one? No idea. She could have been 8 or 12, I am completely Out of Touch with Children, even though I like most of them, and REALLY WANT ONE. I had another “procedure” done on Saturday…so let’s hope it’s Lucky #2. Hope hope hope and pray. The girl kept checking her cell phone every 5 seconds. I think Louis C.K. has some great things to say on the topic of children and cell phones, here, have a gander:

Sometimes he is very wise.

I spy a Maggie dog.
Yesterday we attended a 5 hour seminar for first time home buyers, which was very informative…considering we knew essentially nothing beforehand. Between the fertility procedure and the home buying seminar, it was a Very Grown Up weekend overall.

Now we’re going to eat split pea soup that I made sometime last week for dinner again tonight, because that’s how we roll in the Holcomb household. I’m aware that some people make a new and different dinner every single night of the week and I say this to those people: I applaud you.
