Sewing, sun, and “Foxy Brown”

rogs in the field
Is it just my computer? Or is Flickr running 10,000 times slower than it used to? I upload my photos, it freezes, then I upload everything again and it finally works, but it almost always takes two tries. Have I mentioned that a new computer is all I want for Christmas? Yeah? Goooood. It’s time.

one pumpkin didn't make it
Well, one pumpkin lost that battle. My mother told me that you can easily spring up a pumpkin patch in your yard by letting your pumpkins decompose, which I thought was brilliant…unfortunately, I forgot to tell the Boy to leave a few pumpkin seeds in the pumpkins when he hollowed them out. Whoops. We threw ’em in the forest area anyway, we’ll see what happens.

I made six pillowcases for Lisa and the kids this week, and then last night she e-mailed me and requested “koi” pillowcases. Luckily, she sent me home with a couple yards of purple koi batik, so all I have to do is whip up the pillowcases, which takes no time at all.

My mother has requested throw pillow (cases) with that fabulous floral rick rack trim I slobbered all over at “Pacific Fabrics”. Done!

I'm always happiest in a sunbeam
Gimmee gimmee gimmee sun sun suuuun. Thank God my car was finally finished yesterday morning so the dogs and I could hoof it over to the park and enjoy some actual sunshine.

in the brambles
There was a community college class at the park participating in something called “Weed Identification”, which I thought was hysterical. The students looked exactly how you would imagine them to: like they stepped out of a “Portlandia” skit, and the teacher was a loud middle-aged hippie with a high-strung dog who barked at Maggie and Bear Cub (they ignored it, like Mommy’s good little girls).

Today’s goal: gym. Koi pillowcases for Lisa. I would LOVE to finish the painting I’ve been working on for the past while…I’m nearing the end, and everyone knows finishing a project is the hardest thing for the A.D.D. mind. IT’S HELL.

skywards
Park time wouldn’t be a bad idea, either.

Foxy Brown
Ah ha, hahaha. My expectations were high, but I’ve tried three times to get into this movie and I just can’t. Maybe you have to be stoned to enjoy it?

Bear hug
This is what I look like in the morning; don’t judge me. Have You Hugged a Bear Today? Happy Friday!
